TAIMUN/TASMUN DELEGATES MINI-MUN
Saturday, April 15 is compulsory for delegates only, to attend the mini-MUN in the school cafeteria. It is an opportunity for students to refresh and practice the skills they have been learning over the past few months. This activity will give them more confidence in speaking during MUN debates and familiarize them with the rules and procedures of debates and resolutions. The Secretary-General of TAIMUN, Fabien Chu, will be leading the event.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from school.
Agenda is as follows:
9:00 - 9:30 Set up, microphones, tables, etc.
9:30 - 11:30 Introduction & Lobbying
11:30 - 12:00 Lunch Break
12:00 - 15:00 Debate on resolutions
TAIMUN XV Grades 8-12
Wednesday, April 19, at 5:00 PM, is the official opening ceremony of TAIMUN XV. This takes place at the Plaza International Hotel. All senior high and Grade 8 students chosen to be delegates will be taken there by bus from AST. Dress for this and all MUN events is formal business wear with the exception of the dinner/dance event.
Debates begin Thursday morning. At the completion of debates on Thursday afternoon, senior high students will be driven to the Plaza for the dinner and dance. There is no charge for admission and all senior high students are encouraged to attend. Tickets will be given to them at the beginning of the conference. Grade 8 students will not be attending the dinner and dance but will be taken home on a regular late school bus schedule on Thursday.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students will NOT be driven home after the dinner/dance.
Parents MUST pick up their children at the Plaza International Hotel at 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 20.
Friday is the final day of the conference. The closing ceremony begins at 4:00 PM.
Students will take school bus as usual on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings to AST. They will also take the school bus to the usual drop off location from the Plaza Hotel on Wednesday and Friday after the ceremonies.
