Dear AST Families and Friends,
After the very business end of October, this week was relatively quiet. Given that, I wanted to take a moment to point out a few bits. One is that our students are amazing. All of the activities planned for the Halloween Activity and planned and prepared by the students. They take the lead while we support and guide. It represents a philosophy about how we approach learning as a school whenever possible. It is also a testament to our kids. They host multiple significant events throughout the year and they do a fabulous job.
Also, behind the scenes, we are trying to streamline processes for managing our significant club and athletic opportunities and how we handle and transfer smaller sums of money. We will be sending out our spring club surveys soon with more information as we improve these processes.
Finally, the great opportunities coming up continue next week. On Thursday, we are hosting a parent workshop, “Your Children Are Not Your Children”, for our Taiwanese parents at 10:00 a.m. about child development and the different roles of parents over time. Additionally, there will be a Parent Association meeting at 2:00 p.m. The following week is our AST family tradition to host Thanksgiving lunch on Wednesday before the long weekend. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the coming weeks.
Have a great weekend,
