Dear AST Families and Friends,
Thank you to all the parents that joined us for Back to School Night. The positive working relationship between parents, teachers, and students is critical to our students' success. When we work together, our students not only take flight but soar.
At Back to School Night, we shared the schoolwide MAPS data from this week and the impressive AP data from last May’s assessments. Individual data will come this week and it will be sent home by advisory/homeroom teachers. The note on the calendar about Parent Conferences (as needed) is to remind teachers to reach out regarding areas of concern or striking MAPS data. We will reach out to parents starting next week. Full conferences will happen later in November.
We have had a few complaints about student behavior on the buses. We take this seriously as we are unwilling to risk anyone’s safety. If students are reported three times they will receive a one-week suspension from the bus and further action will be taken if the problem persists. Please talk to your students about wearing their seatbelts and using a volume level that is appropriate for the bus.
The first tea time with the Directors for this year is Thursday, September 5 at 2:30 pm. We look forward to sitting down with you next week.
Have a great week,
Child Safety- ES Parent Pick up
Safety is our top priority. A friendly reminder goes to all ES parents who come to pick your child after school, please park your car and walk to the playground to pick your child up between 3:30-3:45 p.m. All ES students will wait at the guard’s house after 3:45 p.m. or attend after school programs.
Bus Stop Pickup
If your child is taking the bus home, it is important to come to the bus stop to pick up your child. The nanny will not release the elementary students if there is no one at the receiving end.
Bringing Lunch from Home?
If you are bringing your lunch from home, you can store it in the refrigerator in the kitchen area of the LAC in the morning. Food safety is always a priority for us and some foods should be kept chilled throughout the morning to be as safe as possible. Talk to your child if they should be refrigerating their lunch at school.
ES After School Clubs
We are so happy to see students participate in the clubs and enroll for this semester. We have made some change for ESOL and offer VEX class for grade 3 and grade 5, please check here to see the clubs and the schedule we offer this semester. If your kids have decided to join the club but you have not signed up online yet, please sign up here.
Please let me know if you have any question, thank you very much.
