Dear AST Family and Friends,
As we approach Spring Break, we are remaining proactive in the protection of our kids. If anyone is still planning to travel outside of Taiwan or planning to host visitors from outside of Taiwan, we again would like to urge you to reconsider those plans. Today, we have learned that a recent expatriate man was tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in central Taiwan. This man was infected by visitors from the States. Even though he is not in our community, we are asking everyone to practice social distancing and exercise caution during this time.
To track travel and make as informed decisions as possible, we will send out another Travel Survey. It will look much like the previous travel survey with a focus on your travel plans during spring break and throughout the remainder of the year. Completion of the survey will be required before anyone is allowed to return to campus after Spring Break.
We’ve noticed a number of students wearing CIO2 “virus away” tags around their necks. After doing some research and consulting with medical professionals, they suggest the chemicals(CIO2) may pose some potential harm to the human body, causing skin irritation or causing damage to the respiratory system. The use of these tags should be reconsidered. Here are some news articles related to the use of these products:
We are still encouraging students to frequently wash their hands and wear a mask as a practical way to protect oneself.
Have a great weekend,
Anthony & Annie

Planning for 2020-2021
Here is the Year-at-a-Glance Calendar for 2020-2021. Please note that we are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation and that this may also impact the next school year.
Food & Drink Delivery
I sent an email to all of our students this week regarding food and drink deliveries to AST. We are only allowing food vendors to deliver to campus that we regularly work with. We have taken steps to ensure that the people preparing food for our students are doing so in a healthy environment and are physically healthy. We do not have any control over other vendors. Based on this, we are banning all other deliveries of food and drinks for students. The guard has been instructed to turn away food vendors attempting to deliver to students. If a student needs lunch, they should bring it from home or purchase school lunch. If a student needs to buy school lunch, they should see Ms. Amber in GAO.
