Dear AST Family and Friends,

We are updating you based on the newest information that we have available.

The government has expanded the self-quarantine requirement to 14 days since returning from any travel that included mainland China, Macau, or Hong Kong. We are keeping our expectations the same.

After a cost/benefit analysis, we do believe that taking an online learning approach has a greater overall benefit over delaying the return to the campus. As of right now, we are preparing to operate in this way on Monday. We will be sharing more information with everyone again in the coming days about how this will be structured. Please note that students will need internet access during this time, but they are also expected to disconnect in meaningful ways during the day as well. We are trying to help facilitate both of these types of learning.

It is our intention to return to campus as soon as we are able to do so safely. To us, this means following the recommendations of the government and CDC. Their recommendations are face masks for all students, substantial alcohol-based sanitizer stations, and temperature checking every student before getting onto the bus or entering campus. Based on these recommendations there is currently a global, national, and local shortage of these same supplies. We are working with our distributors to be able to comply with these recommendations as quickly as possible.

We will continue to monitor the situation and recommendations and keep you updated.

Please stay safe and healthy during this challenging time.

Best regards,

Anthony Keen
