On November 21st, during AST’s Thanksgiving celebration a small group of students from almost every grade at AST celebrated Thanksgiving in a very meaningful way. These students went to the Taichung Orphanage to play music and games with the kids there. The children at the Orphanage are special needs kids with a variety of afflictions. At the Orphanage, we started the visit with a performance by the Chamber Choir Club.
All I Want from Kodaline by Hazel and Sydney
A Thousand Years from Christina Perri by Ting and Angela
Faded from Alan Walker by Zoe and Carilyn
You could tell from the kids faces that they really enjoyed the performance. After this, AST students and the orphanage children played London Bridge is falling down together. As the game progressed, you could see that everyone grew more and more comfortable with each other and had fun. Finally, we presented the Taichung Orphanage with the money we had raised during the Charity Fun Run in October, and shared toys that we bought for the children. All too fast, we had to leave the orphanage, but we left it with a true feeling of Appreciation and Thanksgiving.
